In January 2018, and published 6 Feb 2018, I wrote an op-ed piece regarding Adelaide’s future as a ’City of Collections’. It included my strong endorsement for the ‘Adelaide Contemporary’ vision of friend and colleague, former Director, Art Gallery of South Australia and now Director of the National Gallery of Australia,  Nick Mitzevich. Little were we to know that the centrepiece of the Marshall government’s excellent ‘Investing in the Arts’ Election Platform would be released just a few short weeks later. In that document, an alternate vision for a significant Aboriginal Arts and Cultures place for what is now known as ‘Lot 14’ is the centrepiece. I embrace this alternate vision and am committed to its realisation.

Little was I to also know that in May 2020, after a gap of 17 years, I would return to Adelaide Town Hall as an Elected Member. I therefore now have an additional platform from which to pursue my ‘City of Collections’ vision..!
